Day 136

Boat hunting again, and they even let us aboard some with all three kids in tow. So trusting!
Youngest woke us all up early this morning so we were like a house full of zombies until about 11 am. We aren't normally the most active of families in the morning anyway but this morning we were worse than ever.

I had a list of jobs that needed doing spinning around in my head. There was work required on the house and for the business. But in my comatosed state, (if there is such a word!), I decided it was all too boring. So instead we rallied the kids round and decided we were going out. Yes, you guessed it, boat hunting!

We realised how sunny and warm it was once we got out of the house and set off on our drive. I thought I may struggle to stay awake once the gentle motion of the car rocked me, but surprisingly I felt great. We arrived at our destination and located the marina. We had visited the area before but had never managed to actually find any boats to look at. It appears we just didn't drive quite far enough down last time. The area around the marina was lovely with picnic benches and even a barbecue set up for use of customers. I imagined us all part of the boating jet set enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon with a barbie. Oh well, I can dream can't I?

I let my partner do all the talking and before long we were being shown around three of the boats. I thought when they saw us with our three kids in tow they would find excuses to avoid us boarding anything, but they didn't. They were very patient as we helped the girls onto the boats and watched them explore the cabin. They were pretending there was a sea monster after them and kept running up and down the steps.

Of course of the three boats we all liked the biggest and most expensive one the most. There goes our budget before we have even got any money! Youngest thought we had already paid for the big one. I wish! It did show us that it was still a good idea for us to aim for a boat though, as all three kids were really excited at the thought of us travelling around to new places, preferably at speed.

After much wishful thinking we headed back home. My partner had booked for us to go to the pictures to see a 3D film so at least the kids still had something to look forward to. However we ended up in our normal rush to get there, making it too late to grab any drinks and popcorn before the film started. The kids were really tired when we came out of the cinema, and a bit disappointed when we told them they couldn't have the missed goodies now, because it was too close to bed time. We had a few tears from youngest and sulks from eldest daughter but once home they accepted a banana was all they were going to get to satisfy their alleged hunger.

I am hoping with youngest being so obviously tired she will let us lie in a bit longer tomorrow. Happy
